The Company

Travel New York wholly owned by Online Travel Concierge (OTC) has been offering New York hotel and tour products at discounted rates via the internet since 1996.

Its portals consist of the recognised Travel NewYork.com and TourNewYork.com travel websites.

The Problem

Travel New York product overing included just over 50 direct contracted New York hotels and activities. Its objective was to expand and diversify its product range to include flights, cars and to expand the number of hotels and allow web users to dynamically package its products.

Travel New York also wanted to expand its web functionality for customer membership and direct marketing.

Finally Travel New York also wanted an easy to use Back office system to fully manage the new website content, customer relationships, marketing, its contracted inventory and manage bookings.

The Blue Solution

Blue Dymension expanded Travel New York's website functionality to allow flights, car-hire, tours and hotels online bookings via a public, agency and corporate ecommerce websites.

An important element and foundation of the new e-business solution delivered was the Blue Core messaging system. With its flexability it was fully integrated with a number of APIs including Transfirst Merchant API, Data On Call (e-fax) API and with content from both the Pegasus Pegs Tour XML API and the Sabre Webservices API.

The Pegasus' Pegs Tour XML API allows for direct connection with hotels CRSs for contract rates and instant booking to the hotels' CRS, whle Sabres' Web Services XML API integrated according to Online Travel Alliance (OTA) standards allow for real time direct searching and booking of flights, cars and GDS hotel rates.

Blue Dymension's Content Management, Customer Relationship and Marketing module within its Control Management System was also integrated to allow staff at Online Travel Concierge to fully manage the new websites, direct email marketing, customer relationship all via one user-friendly web interface.

Blue Dymension's Reservation System module (also accessed by the one Control Panel) now allows staff to conduct call centre bookings while managing contracted hotel and activity inventory, management of bookings from either contracted or Sabre or Pegasus products and reporting.

The e-Portal functionality gives the new websites depth allowing advanced searches, customer membership for booking history and changes, customer email alerts, wish lists, itinerary lead booking and more.

With the new integrated third party data and content sytem the new Travel New York website customers can now dynamically packaged Contracted and GDS hotels with Sabre Flight and Cars.
